Joy Spotting #5: Beat the Monday Blues!


It's Sunday evening, weekend is getting over and you are feeling anxious about the next day...MONDAY and start of the next week!

Here's a trick to get you away from your Monday Blues :)  You have to do this on Sunday evening/ night.


  • Prepare your favourite clothes to wear on Monday.
  • Decide what you will make/eat for your breakfast/lunch - again...something that's your favourite.
  • And last and a very important activity...Just before you sleep...close your eyes and visualise how beautifully your Monday will start and go on smoothly. Even if you are foreseeing some troubles, simply visualise how everything is getting sorted. 


All of this works...so try out!

Joy Spotting #4: Just take a pause and smile!


 I’m back after a long gap! But here I am, with much more to share with you.

Usually, we all encounter some issues in our personal or professional lives that keep cropping up every now and then. Some are just momentary, but few others might take longer period of time to sort them out.

For some of you who are reading this post, you might be going through difficulties right now.  You are desperately seeking an exit from this stress and burden of these problems. But nothing seems to be in your control. You are getting anxious and the fear of some loss is gripping and growing by the minute.

How do you tackle this scenario?

Here is what you need to do...

Wherever you are…just take a pause and smile!

Do it right away. This simple and most inexpensive medicine in the world is the best solution to your every problem, whether it is small or big. I repeat…whether it is small or BIG!
And I will not tell you to stop thinking about your problem while you take this pause to smile.
Keep your thoughts about your worries, your fear, your anxieties, your issues in your mind…and smile.

Do it for a minute, you will like it. Keep doing it at frequent intervals and you will love it. What you will gradually experience is that slowly the burden of your problems will feel lighter.
You will get a newfound energy to face all your challenges! Not only will you overcome these problems with ease, but it will also make you so much stronger, and you will attract more happiness and joy!

Smile is the secret code! Please use it in abundance!

Joy Spotting #2: The bliss of boredom :)



Saturday is a day of laziness. Deep dive into the realms of laziness and enjoy the bliss of boredom. It might sound strange but enjoy being on your own, do nothing, think nothing and have a great weekend. Enjoy the sights and sounds around you. These days when each one of us, does a perfect neck yoga exercise of bending the neck forward, eyes focused on our hands holding a 5-inch digital object, we have stopped observing our surroundings. Try this new exercise, give your eyes more JOY to observe people and places around you. It’s simple…just place yourself in a nice comfy place, a buzzing cafĂ©, a bench on the street or even a window of your apartment. Give your ears the JOY of hearing people talking. Keep catching glimpses of whatever is happening around you. This will infuse your mind so much and for once you will stop thinking about your own.
It’s a pleasure of solitude, a JOY of belongingness with your surroundings! And woohoo! The bliss of boredom is exciting J

Joy Spotting #1: Gratitude



The first step towards finding JOY is to be grateful! Many books and motivational speakers have spoken about gratitude. If we imbibe this in our daily routine, it can make your life spectacular.

Here’s how – A simple way that doesn’t take you away from your busy life.

Every morning when you get up, till the time you freshen up start counting things, people and situations you are grateful for and ‘Thank’ each one of those. On many occasions, you will find a lingering thought of the previous day worrying you. Something that’s bothering you at the back of your mind. In all of this, would you be interested in feeling grateful for other things. You are right – you will not be. BUT, what can change your day to deal with that difficult situation in your favour is to be grateful for something in that difficult situation. Visualize you coming out as a winner from that situation

For e.g. Your worried thought says – “I’m so tensed about this assignment in office if I can do it without making any mistakes and deliver it on time.” First, think you have something in you that’s why you are chosen for this important assignment. Also be grateful for your colleague(s)/team who are supporting you to finish this task. And last, visualize you being appreciated for doing it so well.
This small exercise is applicable and true for whatever difficult situations you face in your day to day life. Find it difficult to commute. Follow the same exercise – Be thankful for what you have, Visualize having an easy ride. 

Is this an instant cure to all your problems? No. But the thought of conquering these fears and challenges in our daily lives is your Joy Spotting!

In a course of few days you will find, situations becoming favourable – the way you want to!
